Dr Raji Kooner is a urological surgeon practising across St Vincent's Private (Darlinghurst), the Mater Hospital (North Sydney) and Bowral. He was one of the first in Australia to perform laparoscopic kidney surgery for kidney cancer and has since performed more than three thousand robotic procedures across kidney and prostate disease.
At Kidney Surgery Sydney, the emphasis is on preserving healthy kidney tissue wherever possible, clear communication, and the measured use of modern technology - from robotic partial nephrectomy to flexible laser ureteroscopy.
Whenever feasible, partial nephrectomy is used in preference to removing the whole kidney, reducing long-term risk of renal failure.

Dr Kooner was among the first surgeons in Australia to perform laparoscopic kidney surgery for kidney cancer and has continued to refine minimally invasive and robotic techniques ever since. Where the anatomy allows, partial nephrectomy is preferred to protect long-term kidney function.
Dr Kooner has contributed to the Australian urology literature and teaches across public and private hospital settings.
